Volunteer with SMART® for One Hour Per Week!

SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) is an early literacy nonprofit that envisions an Oregon in which every child can read and is empowered to succeed.  We engage community volunteers to help PreK-3rd grade children become confident readers by providing one-on-one literacy support, valuable adult mentorship, and books to take home and keep.  We need 7 volunteers for the SMART program in our school.  Volunteer to read for one hour per week from now through mid-May.

To help children discover the joy of reading, call 971-634-1616 or visit www.GetSMARTOregon.org and help start making a reader today!

Gaffney Lane Run/Walk Club returns

April 9th through May 24th

Run Club Website

The Oregon City Schools Foundation is gearing up for our auction. However, the 2012 auction is going to work a little differently. Our online auction will begin on May 1st and run until the close date, May 19th. The change is that we are going to close the auction on May 19th with a special community event from 10am until 2pm in the Jackson Campus cafeteria. Kids can play games and hang out in the bouncy house or on the slide, while parents take the opportunity to view auction items and make their bids in person. Lunch and beverages will be available for purchase.
We are currently looking for volunteers from our schools to help out with this event. We need volunteers to run the games and the children’s activities, sell concessions at the lunch counter, and to monitor auction items. If you are interested in helping, please contact OCSF manager Tony Baehr at tonybaehr42@gmail.com.
As always OCSF auction proceeds go to meeting the needs of Oregon City School District students and schools.
